The aquariums – diversity of the North Sea
Beginning with the upper reaches of a stream, across the intertidal zone to the depths of the North Sea: dive on a tour along the basin deeper and deeper into the habitats of our local waters and their inhabitants.
With over 280 species you can see the variety of fish, crabs, crustaceans and molluscs which make the Wadden Sea and the North Sea region unique.
In total there are 36 large aquariums in the Multimar, a large aquarium with a 6x6 metre viewing window, as well as 18 special aquariums displaying smaller animals in their habitats.
We hope you enjoy it!
Marine habitats of the National Park can be found in the Wadden Sea aquariums.
The habitats of the cold North Sea are on show near the fisheries exhibition in the basement.
Fresh water and its inhabitants are on show on the ground floor.
